The 2018 Nebraska Balloon & Wine Festival is pleased to announce, because of such an overwhelming response, back for another year an opportunity to taste a vast selection of wine paired with delicious foods. These Wines will be combined with delicious hors d’oeuvres and food pairings prepared by some of the best area chefs.

Carrabba’s, Italian Grill

$40 per person (Includes $15 Wine Tasting Ticket – 5 Tastes wine and Souvenir Wine Glass)

Carrabba’s in Omaha offers flavorful, handmade Italian dishes prepared to order in a lively exhibition kitchen. Guests enjoy Carrabba family recipes handed down for generations including crispy calamari, homemade lasagne and a variety of fresh fish, seafood and meats cooked over our wood-fired grill.

First Course:

Caprese Skewers

Red grape tomatoes, Fresh Milk mozzarella, extra virgin salad oil, salt, pepper and fresh basil

Paired with our house made Sangria (blackberry or Peach)

Second Course:

Shrimp Scampi

Shrimp sautéed with garlic and our house made lemon butter

Paired with Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

Main Course:

Chicken Marsala

Grilled Chicken topped with our homemade Mushroom  Marsala sauce served withZucchini Stephano

Paired with Beringer Founders Estate Cabernet

Dessert  Course:

Mini Cannoli

Seetened ricotta cheese with cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate chips, stuffed in a crispy pastry shell and topped with pistachios

Paired with Rosatello Moscato

801 Grill is a complement to our sister restaurant, 801 Chophouse, a casual spinoff of the long-time Omaha fine dining establishment located in the Paxton. Serving only certified black angus steaks, burgers, and other comfort food favorites, 801 Grill brings friendly neighborhood dining to the next level.

First Course:

Compressed Watermelon Salad
with Dehydrated Prosciutto, Mint, Aged Balsamic

Paired with Ca Del Re Moscato

Second Course:

Tuna Tartare

Paired with Walnut Block Sauvignon Blanc

Third Course:

Braised Short Rib, Crispy Polenta Cake, Caramelized Chipollini Onion, Demi

Paired with Sean Minor Bears Cabernet Sauvignon

The FOOD  & WINE EXPERIENCE Sessions will be set up classroom style with wine glasses and conducted by Culinary Chefs, Vintners and Wine Experts. These sessions will involve flights of wine paired with food tasting.   Mike Mancuso, Festival Manager, indicated “This Event has had such a Great response every year at the Nebraska Balloon & Wine Festival, we have to keep bringing it back.”  Whether you are a wine connoisseur, wine lover or simply interested in trying something new, the Food and Wine Experience will offer a special interaction of chefs with wine tastings.  It represents the culinary aspect of enjoying great wine and a fun way to discover the chemistry of life’s simplest indulgences!”
